Rusizi:Cimerwa a great Partner ;at other side a great burden to neighbors

When you arrive in different villages of Muganza sector, especially the one around Cimerwa factory, you will be greeted with tears by the people who welcome you and tell you about the problems they have regarding thier house reparations, which can lead to death.

This is due to the fact that they see  the rainy season approached and therefore heavy rains are going to fall which will make the houses destroyed  because of not   repaired as they told a kivupost reporter working in the area.

Those who spoke to him told that after the Cimerwa factory continued to not clarify  the issue of  people who were told that they would be relocated and given compensation, it has been almost eight years since they were given the promise of relocation.

People of Muganza sector are asking to be granted for their house rehabilitation.

These residents are also confident that no house or land has been left unaccounted for, so are confident that they will be relocated as soon as possible for their convenience, even though no concrete solution has been found so far.

Residents of homes  affected call for government

There are people living in Shara village who say that because they are not allowed to repair their houses, they are going to kill them because of rain started ; they say that their problem is known but remain uncorrected.

If not granted for house rehabilitation;Cimerwa expropriate them to leave their land owing to those Circumstances.

Maniragaba Aphrodis says that he applied for a repair permit but it was in vain and he never got one.

He said: “I asked for repairs almost a year ago; I have not been answered, so I would see other people repairing their houses and wondering what I will do with my family. We are asking the President of the Republic to do justice to us.”

There are those who say to arrange  materials in their places for 7 years, but they have given up because they have not  received the building documents.

Ignacienne Itangishaka, who lives in Shara’s cell, says  she bought bricks, sand,  other materials to make sure she could build it like the others, but it failed.

Talking to Kivupost he said:

“I lost the materials that I want to build like others; for almost seven years the existing land has been full of grass; you understand that we are given up; we ask the government to move us or give us the right to build our houses to live in and stop loosing our time”

Rehabilitation within 500 meters were allowed

Among the residents we talked to, all of them came to say that there are residents who are allowed to repair at least 500 meters from the Cimerwa plant, which they say is also allowed to live there and live in it.

He said: “Walk this Shara and look at those who are building houses for you. And from the Foundation, but I am asking to repair them and I was denied; if you look, those who build those houses like the ones we want to build have documents signed by the Rusizi region; so where do we live?”

He goes on to say that they do not understand how those who repair are damaged, but those who build from the ground up are allowed and they are the holy place, saying that there is no way to avoid corruption because there is no way to make it easy if you do great things, but if you do small things, you will be hindered.

Most of the people who say this are the people who are always asking to be relieved but their eyes are closed in the sky, so they are asking that they also be relieved and have the chance to avoid the disasters of this monsoon rains that have ended and prevent accidents that lead to unexplained deaths.

Not only Rehabilitators even Residents affected

In the testimony of the kivupost there is a woman from Cite village in Kamanu cell in Nyakabuye sector in Rusizi region who aborted   due to the noise from their explosives.

As soon as that woman was taken to the doctor and her mother accompanied  her , luckily she did not leave her life but the child she was pregnant with died.

In the actual information that kivupost has is that those who collected the Cimerwa factory found all the dust and found the clothes hung with dust and it was said that you would not buy those clothes.

They  say that when you cook, the food you cook is filled with sand and dust, which causes various diseases from pollution.

They also say that all their houses have been destroyed and some of them have been destroyed due to the explosion of firecrackers. going out of the house every time they are going to blow up those explosives that they see and complain about them.
